Outdoor Art Festivals
Are a thing of the past…for now.
Last year, before breaking my ankle, I had decided to cut back on outdoor art festivals to spend more time at home. Little did I know that breaking my ankle and not walking for 3 months would really cement that decision for me in the months to come!
While I didn’t miss the hectic summer schedule of traveling to art festivals nearly every weekend, I did miss connecting with all of you. I’ve always loved hearing your stories about how my Midwest-inspired artwork brings a personal touch to your home decor.
That said, in 2025, I’m scaling back my art festival appearances even further than originally planned way back when. If I participate in any outdoor festivals this year, it will only be the two that rolled over my payments from last year due to the broken ankle. I’m still toying with the idea of doing them vs not – they are two shows that a past me really would have wanted to do. But, do they fit into my focuses of family and creating new meaningful paintings that capture the Midwest’s landscapes and bright skies?
One event I do plan to join, barring any further ankle complications, is Balltown Street Days this fall. I’ll co-run the event and showcase my collection of landscape prints, skyscape paintings, and nature-inspired art. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate small town Iowa and connect with those who cherish the beauty of the Midwest as much as I do.
Between my family, not having to miss any of the kids’ events in 2024, and my ankle issues, this ended up being a very easy decision to make. Staying closer to home allows me to enjoy my family AND focus on creating colorful landscape paintings that bring the beauty of the nature into your homes.
If you are looking to add a touch of the Midwest to your walls, I hope you’ll explore the landscape prints, original paintings and mini original paintings now available on my website. Each piece is created to bring joy and a sense of connection to the natural beauty around us.
